can’t wait for summer

asagao2.gif          Summer is just a few weeks away, yeay ! And summer time means v*a*c*a*t*i*o*N , ice-cream and kakigori and … ghost stories !

Ghost stories ?  Well yes,  since Japanese people remember and pay homage to their ancestors during the hot month of August , not November like the rest of the world. So, expect lots of horror movies and ghost documentaries on the telly soon.

My summer vacation from work starts next week, yipeeee!!

In winter I get up at night
  and dress by yellow candle-light.
In summer quite the other way
I have to go to bed by day .

Masarap matulog sa hapon pag summer,eh!

Happy weekend to everyone!

the weekend..

My hubby and most of the working people in Japan had  3 days off last weekend. As usual I was so happy to be spending these precious time with hubby.

SATURDAY - we went bowling with another couple . As usual I had the least score.  Nakakinis , I did my best but my bowl just wont go straight, hrmp.

SUNDAY - stayed in bed most of the day and on the couch the rest of it.

MONDAY - drove round the city , visited some model houses then spent the evening with the old folks. Watched the JAPAN vs. VIETNAM soccer game on the telly. It was a very good game . I’m just disappointed that my favorite footballer is not on the national team this year.

I hoped that everybody had a nice weekend but sadly , a strong earthquake hit some parts of Japan yesterday. We felt the tremor too.  7 people lost their lives and many more were injured. For more of this sad news pls. click here.

hey teacher …

I’ve had lots of schools to visit these past few days. Sometimes I’m already hollering by  8:30 a.m.  By the 4rth period I’m already croaking like a frog. It is fun teaching kiddies, I enjoy it so much but sometimes they can really be naughty.

This morning I almost lost my patience with a 4rth grader. And I’m blaming .. yes I am really mad , not at  the  boy  but  at  his   class adviser. Here’s why !

I always start my classes with some songs and then I’d introduce myself and my country. Then I invite the kids to ask questions about the philippines and about me. This way kids will open up to me and will   enjoy the lessons that will follow.

Right from the very start there was this boy who can’t keep his mouth shut. He keeps talking … in a rather loud voice while I was also blabbering. I kindly told him to STOP and LISTEN. I also told the class to not worry because I will give them all a chance to speak. But that kid just wouldN’t shut up.

I tried to ignore him and continue with my lesson but he was escalating. Like he was really distracting me. Now the class adviser is always with me when I have my classes. So I keep glancing at the teacher hoping she would tell her pupil to  shut up and pay attention.

BUT she just stood there ! It was   impossible for her not to notice that I was sending her signals . But the dork …ughh!!

I had it !

HEY  TEACHER, DO  SOMETHING WILL YOU !! “

It was the first time I raised my voice to a fellow teacher. What can I do? The menace was drowning my voice and the other kids were distracted too.

Do you think that made her do something???

Oh no! She was physically there but was really somewhere else the whole time.

Haaaahhh , I was ready to blow-up.

But I am not the regular teacher and I  c an ‘t really scold the pupils.   If I can I would have banished that kid, and that teacher.

whew … why can’t some teachers be teachers??

Don’t they know that aside from the many things that they teach the kids , they should first and foremost teach them right manners and conduct ???

I left a letter in the teachers office saying that I hope next time they reprimand their naughty pupils   especially when Alternate Language Teachers are conducting their lessons. I specifically mentioned THAT teacher.

haahhhh, ayan nakalabas na. Sorry for having you read that.

Have a nice weekend !

a very hot busy Monday !

ice1.gifhalo-halo please !!

Its a very hot day today and I’m really craving for halo-halo . Japan has their own version called ” kaki-gori ” . Shredded ice topped with sweet fruit syrup. Simple huh, compared to our halo-halo. But ok na rin kesa wala … kaya lang , its not yet officially summer . Its still “ tsuyu ” or rainy season here in my part of Japan.

**********************

Its been a very busy day . I had an early start coz my first class started at 8:30 a.m. until 12: 15 . And I was assigned to first grade today.  You can just imagine teaching , playing with little kiddies for 4 straight hours , whew !! By the 4rth hour my voice sounded like a frog croaking . But again , enjoy na naman me !

After that , straight to the bank . Pay-day of hubby eh, yes.gif !! Then hurried lunch at kentucky’s then off to see my doc ( Ob ), then shopping for supplies . Haaaaah , busy busy ate cha .

Kaya I will drop by your blogs tomorrow na, okay !

enjoy the rest of the day !!
